Then, explore Oxford in the afternoon, with a guided walking tour around the city centre and free time for sightseeing afterwards. An exciting day trip from London, combining peaceful countryside and a classic city, giving you a taste of authentic England.

Cotswolds

To start the day, we travel into the breath-taking English countryside of the Cotswolds. Admire the scenic views of rolling hills and patchwork fields, farmed in the traditional way. Your guide will tell you the stories of life in this rural area and the fascinating history of the charming villages. The Cotswolds are an official Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, meaning its gorgeous landscape and traditional way of life are protected for future generations.

Burford

To ensure you get the most out of your countryside experience, we take you to see two villages. First is Burford, known as “the gateway to the Cotswolds”. It is one of the most loved villages in England, having been a thriving tourist destination for over 75 years. With chocolate-box cottages lining the historic high street, it is the perfect place for a relaxing stroll and memorable photo. You can also visit the Church of St John the Baptist, a Grade I listed building that began construction in the 12th century. This village is calm, quiet and shows you what life in the Cotswolds is really like.

Bourton-On-The-Water

Next, we head to Bourton-On-The-Water, called “the Venice of the Cotswolds”. Here, you will find the pretty River Windrush snaking through the village centre, with five stone footbridges. Browse the handmade products in the local shops for your perfect souvenir, or enjoy a light bite in a traditional pub. Explore the charming streets of stone houses, marvel at the Model Village, or take a relaxing stroll along the banks of the Windrush. Your guide will make recommendations on what to do so you can make the most of this lively town with so much to enjoy.

Our guides are hand-picked for their passion and knowledge. Throughout the tour, your guide will share stories and fun facts with you as you travel through the lovely English countryside. The Cotswolds is one of the most beautiful places in the world and an unmissable destination for those who love the beauty of rural England.

Oxford

In the afternoon is Oxford, one of the most famous university cities worldwide. People come from all over to see the most stunning architecture, see the colleges and explore the attractions. Oxford is often called “the City of Dreaming Spires”, thanks to its many gothic-style buildings that make up the university. You will have at least 2.5 hours to enjoy the city, with an optional walking tour and time for sightseeing.

The walking tour shows you the most famous places of interest as your guide shares the rich history of the city. Some of the sights include: the Sheldonian Theatre, the Bridge of Sighs, the Bodleian Library, the Radcliffe Camera and many impressive colleges – over 36 in total! For those wishing to explore inside the university, your guide will suggest the best buildings to visit. We recommend booking tickets online in advance to secure your spot.

Oxford has much to offer besides the colleges. Harry Potter filming locations, the official Alice in Wonderland shop, the amazing museums, and much more. Have lunch in a local restaurant or grab something from the Covered Market, then take a stroll in the Botanic Gardens or Christchurch Meadow. Oxford has so much to offer!

We depart from Oxford at 4pm and make our way back to London, dropping you back at the starting point near Gloucester Road Station around 6:00pm. This tour lasts approximately 11 hours – a whole day of sightseeing and fun! Book your tour now to join us as soon as possible.
