Stonehenge

The ancient monument of Stonehenge is the most famous prehistoric site in England and an absolute must-see. It was first constructed almost 5000 years ago and has remained one of the most important cultural sites in Britain ever since. Now, it is a protected UNESCO World Heritage site that draws thousands of visitors every year.

This tour’s early departure from London means we are one of the first tour groups to arrive at Stonehenge! On the way there, sit back and relax as your guide tells you about the site’s fascinating history, then you have free time to explore the monument, landscape and visitor centre upon arrival. After seeing Stonehenge with your own eyes, you will soon understand why this sacred site is still so popular to this day.

Admission is included in the price of your tour, which together with the comfortable transport and helpful guide is an amazing deal! This grants you entry to all the onsite facilites: the stone circle walkway, on-site shuttle bus, visitor centre and exhibition. There is also a café, a gift shop and toilets at the visitor centre. English Heritage Wi-Fi is available on site. Upon arrival, we recommend that you take the shuttle bus directly from the visitor centre to the stones to beat the crowds. You can also download the Stonehenge audio guide app, available for free in thirteen languages.

After departing from Stonehenge, we drive through the gorgeous English countryside into the Cotswolds. Your guide will tell you about the history of the landscape and stories about life in England. Our drivers make sure to take the routes with beautiful views and all you have to do is enjoy the journey.

Cotswolds

The Cotswolds is the most beautiful and traditional countryside remaining in England. Its breathtaking scenery, rolling hills and charming stone cottages attract millions of tourists from around the world every year. It is even one of the top wedding destinations in the country! Much of this lovely landscape is untouched by modern life, allowing you to discover the idyllic charm of rural England.

We take you deep into the very heart of the Cotswolds, to the village of Bourton-on-the-Water. This is a truly unmissable destination, since it is one of the most picturesque and pretty villages. It is also known as the “Venice of the Cotswolds”, with arched stone bridges crossing over the River Windrush that runs through the centre of the village. Here, you can experience the joy of life in the English countryside.

There is a lot to do in Bourton-on-the-Water, from local attractions like the Motor Museum or the Model Village, to souvenir-shopping in the Distillery or the Perfumery. Stroll along the river and snap a selfie in picture-perfect surroundings to remember this day forever. The chocolate-box cottages, ducks swimming in the river and peaceful atmosphere are sure to capture your heart.

You will enjoy up to two hours in the village, with enough free time to explore and have lunch. There’s all sorts of great places to eat with local, traditional food and your guide will recommend their favourite spots to grab a bite! Our guides are hand-picked for their friendliness and expertise. Throughout the tour, your guide will be there to look after you, from helping take your photo to introducing you to hidden gems.

Return journey

After a day of exciting sightseeing, you have time to rest on the journey back. We depart from Bourton-on-the-Water at 2:30pm and travel back to London to drop you at the starting location.

Great day at the Cotswolds and Oxford. Tour guide James was very informative, interesting and definitely not boring. Bus driver Marius was fantastic and also entertaining.

I took the Stonehenge and Bath tour. It was perfect, Rosie was so nice, and she explained everything so well because she actually lived there in Bath, so she knew interested facts about everything. I totally recommend it.

This Stonehenge half-day trip was great. It was nice to be able to arrive at the site right as it was opening. Our guide was very pleasant and knowledgeable and the bus ride was very comfortable. It was the right amount of time to spend at Stonehenge.
