LONDON TO STONEHENGE IN HALF A DAY!

Explore Britain’s most famous ancient monument on our Half-Day Stonehenge Tour! An early departure from London lets you beat the crowds and enjoy the site to the fullest. This is a brilliant deal, with transport, tickets and admission to the exhibition centre all included for only £66/adult! The beauty of a morning tour is that you arrive back in London by 2pm, with the whole rest of the day to continue sightseeing.

Construction of Stonehenge began almost 5000 years ago during the Stone Age by Neolithic farmers in Britain. It has remained an incredibly sacred and unique place ever since and is now a UNESCO World Heritage site. For anyone visiting London or England, it’s a must-see destination! There is so much to do here: listen to the audio guide as you walk around the stones, explore the gorgeous landscape, and learn about Neolithic life in the fascinating exhibition at the visitor centre.

Early Half-Day Stonehenge Tour. Be among the first groups to arrive!

This tour has great value, including your admission to the Stonehenge site, valued at £25. With the price of your tour, you get access to the monument, shuttle bus, visitor centre and exhibition. Ride in comfort from London to Stonehenge with interesting commentary from your expert guide, introducing Stonehenge’s deep history. There is also a café, a gift shop and toilets available at the visitor centre, and English Heritage Wi-Fi is accessible there.

Our tour allows you to arrive as soon as the site opens. We are usually one of the first tour groups at Stonehenge, ahead of the crowds, giving you the best photo opportunities. The itinerary is designed to let you spend at least 2 hours at Stonehenge, to allow you to make the most of your time onsite. We depart Stonehenge at 12pm, meaning we are usually able to drop you back in London by 2pm. A World Heritage Site ticked off your bucket list in just one fun-filled morning!

Getting around the site

Shuttle buses are provided to let you travel quickly and easily between the visitor centre and the monument in both directions. They are free to ride and come every few minutes. Upon arrival, we recommend taking the shuttle bus directly to the stones to get ahead of the crowds. You can then use the shuttle bus to return to the visitor centre, or take a walk back through the landscape. The walk from the visitor centre to Stonehenge takes approximately 30 minutes at an average walking speed. Please bring suitable shoes for walking in the countryside if you would like to do so.

Stonehenge audio guide

We recommend downloading the audio guide app, available on Apple and Android for free, which comes in thirteen languages. You can find the audio guide available on the App Store under the name “Stonehenge Audio Tour”. Wi-Fi and mobile reception can be unreliable on-site, so we suggest downloading the app before your tour.

Please bring your own headphones/earphones if you want to listen to the audio guide. There are three audio tours available: the Stone Circle, the Exhibition, and the Landscape, to explain the context for all the different parts of the Stonehenge Site. Learn more about the history of Stonehenge and the life of the people who made it as you admire the stones.

Reviews

Great day at the Cotswolds, Oxford and Stratford on Avon. Tour guide James was very informative, interesting and definitely not boring. Bus driver Marius was fantastic and also entertaining.

I took the Stonehenge and Bath tour. It was perfect, Rosie was so nice, and she explained everything so well because she actually lived there in Bath, so she knew interested facts about everything. I totally recommend it.

This half-day trip was great. It was nice to be able to arrive at the site right as it was opening. Our guide was very pleasant and knowledgeable and the bus ride was very comfortable. It was the right amount of time to spend at Stonehenge.
